The Mid-Winter Break of My Discontent
This is getting dire, but don't worry: I've written a book before.
Guys, I did it again.
I went another week without writing anything for my book.
In my defense, we were out of town. It was “mid-winter break” for NYC schools, so we headed upstate for a few days to do some family bonding in a different locale, by which I mean we all yelled at each other for three days about the same stuff we yell at each other about at home, only we paid for the privilege. It was fun!
We were in a charming little Airbnb cabin in the mountains, and had very limited Wi-Fi, which made writing impossible. Well, not really - Microsoft Word doesn’t require the internet but also shut up.
I did have a productive conversation with my editor about structure, which was both overwhelming and reassuring.
