The "Best Of" Times
End-of-year Best Of lists are often the only way I learn about new music in my old age
It’s the holiday season, so there’s not a ton going on this week. At least, I was led to believe there shouldn’t be. 😫😫😫
Instead, I’m transitioning into a new role at work, so I’m stuck between two jobs and am currently doing both, which is FUN; Mom and Buried and I are working our way through Christmas shopping for the kids and each other while trying to manage holiday parties and holiday movies (there aren’t that many nights left to get through our list!); I’m managing my playoff-bound fantasy team AND monitoring my real-life playoff-bound favorite team (#finsup!); and I’m handling any last minute book-related stuff.
To be fair, there’s isn’t a lot of the latter, as Dad Truths is in a bit of limbo right now. Final edits have been made and the book is in production, and the marketing push won’t start until January, at which point things will really heat up. Get those wallets out!
Anyway… we’re still experimenting with content for these Friday newsletters. No new advice questions this week—I guess my last ones didn’t work out too well?—so this week we’re going to focus on recommendations. Specifically, music ones. And by recommendations I mean music that was recommended to me!
Let me explain.
